Here is a guide to install VirtualBox and the VirtualBox extension pack. I will also show you how to add your username to the vboxusers group to enable the USB support.
VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. To install VirtualBox follow these steps:
Press the SuperKey and type: software.
In the search results click on: Software & Updates
Click on the Other Software tab
Click on the Add… button
Copy + paste the following line to the APT line: field:
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian saucy contrib
Click on the add Add Source button
Enter your password
Click on the Authenticate button
Click on the Reload button
Close the window
Now open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following lines:
wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3 -y
sudo adduser yourusername vboxusers
When done you can close the terminal window, you need to logout and back in to enable USB support.
To Install the extension pack open your Home folder and double click on the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.3.10-93012.vbox-extpack file and install it with VirtualBox.
To start VirtualBox press the SuperKey and type: virtualbox followed by Enter.
