Install Clementine Music Player On Ubuntu 10.10 “Maverick Meerkat”

Clementine is a modern music player and library organizer and is a multiplatform music player. It is inspired by Amarok 1.4, focusing on a fast and easy-to-use interface for searching and playing your music.



To install Clementine music player open a Terminal window and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install clementine

When installed you can find Clementine music player under Applications -> Sound & Video

Native desktop notifications on Linux (libnotify) and Mac OS X (Growl).
Remote control using a Wii Remote, MPRIS or the command-line.
Copy music to your iPod, iPhone, MTP or mass-storage USB player.
Queue manager.

Finally!! I’ve installed clementine and it works perfectly!

but it took me the whole morning searching, installing and uninstalling so called “players”.

I would like for Clementine to recognize the album title, and artist…. Oh well, at least it plays and has a great EQ.
