Banshee 2.3.4 Is Released

Banshee 2.3.4 has been released! Banshee 2.3.4 is part of the 2.3 development series leading up to 2.4, scheduled for March 2012.. Read the release notes for more info. You can upgrade Banshee using the Banshee Team daily builds PPA for Banshee.


To add the PPA and upgrade Banshee open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+C) and copy+paste the folowing lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:banshee-team/banshee-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

When Banshee is upgraded you can close the terminal window and to start Banshee press the SuperKey and type: banshee

If you already have the PPA installed Banshee will be updated when running a system update.

Banshee is a default app on Ubuntu 11.04 and above. Ubuntu has a policy of not updating the version of a shipped application, so the version available in the default repository might be old. Note that Canonical modifies our code to take a 75% cut of our Amazon affiliate revenue. If you use Banshee from the community PPA below, 100% of the affiliate revenue will go to GNOME.
